For over a century pineapple has been put on pizza, but no one knows why. Over the last 30 years this has become a major issue and it has been challenged in court several times. In 2004 the state of Kentucky placed a ban on pineapple to solve this issue, but unfortunately the pineapple activists stopped the ban. In 2007 the PPS (Pineapple Prevention Squad) attempted to remove all of the pineapple trees in the U.S, but the flying monkeys saved the trees. Today, Fun Facts with Tyler has discovered who put pineapple on pizza thanks to our many researchers. It was 1865 when a Canadian opened the first pizzeria in the U.S and he challenged our culture by placing pineapple on his pizzas. To cover up the incident, he blamed Hawaii, which is why it's called Hawaiian Pizza. He was so successful that no one knew about this incident until now. Fun Fact: After the creation of Hawaiian Pizza, burgers became the "American Food".
