Who Invented Sea Monkeys? (Monday, June 12, 2017)

Monkeys have always been around, and they've always eaten bananas. Sea Monkeys have not always been around, and it's not clear how they showed up. To find out more, we talked to Animal Biologist Sarah Swindly who has been studying Sea Monkeys for 5 years. Sarah said, "At the moment, we know Sea Monkeys have been around for at least 200 years, but when we look at fossil data its unclear when they first appeared." According to Sarah, Sea Monkeys were created by mixing the genes of a Monkey and a Dolphin. "We've created over 300 sea monkeys ourselves by mixing Dolphin and Monkey genes, but it hasn't helped us. We still have no idea who invented the first Sea Monkey," Sarah stated. Although we don't know who created the first Sea Monkey, we do know that they like to eat Peanut Barnacle and Jelly Fish Sandwiches, they travel in groups of 50 and they enjoy playing water polo.
