Change seemed to be the trend in the year 1980, and NASCAR did just that by requiring all drivers to use turns signals. Prior to this we all thought it seemed counter intuitive to not use a signal as the whole track is in the shape of a circle or oval, but the man behind NASCAR didn't think so. Steve, the head of NASCAR said “We realized we were not complying with the current driving laws put in place, and the last thing we wanted to do was promote breaking the law.” In the year 1983, turn signals were no longer required, but some insiders today are proposing placing a speed limit on the track and even some others plan to install stop lights and carpool only lanes.Fake History -Tyler Johnson
