The cassette tape was actually invented by two Canadians, Cass and Ette in 1943. These two Canadians worked at a local Scotch Tape factory in the small town of Winnipeg and had a passion for music. Music was sadly not portable at the time due to the rising price of oil. This made the transportation of music very difficult, and it led Cass and Ette to figure out a solution. While making a batch of Limited Edition Yellow Scotch Tape, Cass decided to shred a Canadian Vinyl record and stick it on the Limited Edition Yellow Scotch Tape. Ette rolled up the new Limited Edition Yellow Scotch Tape and put it in a plastic grey box and called it a Cass-Ette Tape. Some how, Cass and Ette created a Cassette Tape Player, and it was able to play the vinyl record on the Cassette Tape. The first Cassette Tape consisted of Canadian elevator music with bacon frying in the background. To their surprise, Americans loved it and the bacon stock market took off. Unfortunately, after the invention of CD's, Cassette Tapes soon lost their popularity. In 2010, Vinyl Records began to come back in style, and Cass and Ette believed that Cassette Tapes would become cool again, but they're still waiting.
