The First Political Cartoon (Friday, January 20, 2017)

The first Political Cartoon was invented by James Shampoo in the 1700's who was from Rhode Island. As a child, James Shampoo was amazed at politics and his role model was presidential nominee, Thomas Washington. Thomas Washington could do anything, except be the independent party's nominee (George Washington ended up being the nominee). Like Thomas Washington, James Shampoo wanted to be successful! Unfortunately, he was also unsuccessful... So instead, he created the first political comic, which also was a failure...
