After the CD revolution of the 2000 came the MP Resonance Era (also known as the digital age). In this era, music no longer needed to be tangible, which meant no more CD's, Cassettes, Records, or 8-Tracks! In this Era, 4 Music Corporations created their own MP files (MP stands for Music Portable). These 4 brands of digital music were known as MP1, MP2, MP3 and MP4 (As you can tell they spent a lot of time thinking of the names). Within the first year of the Resonance Era, MP1 and MP2 files went out of style (mostly because they were in mono and black and white). Because of this, we were left with the famous MP3 and MP4 that we know of today. Now today the question has arose, what is the difference between the two? Lucky for you, Fun Facts with Tyler always finds the answer out. MP3 files tend to work better in distant areas (such as Texas) or in surround sound settings. Unfortunately MP4 files tend to lose some of the sound quality, but they do have the option of including video. This also allows for the classic Album Covers which some say is the whole reason you buy the album in the first place. According to SOUND: The Magazine without Sound a new MP file is predicted to be released by Somy known as the MP5 in 2018. This is predicted to be the most revolutionary sound format available on the market. It combines the features of the MP3 and MP4 files while adding an additional virtual surround function (because everything is about virtual reality these days).
