Everyone has seen the advertisements for Black Friday, but it all occurs on Thursday. Do corporations not understand how the calendar works? In fact, they don't even realize that Thursday is already a holiday and that they shouldn't plan Black Friday in the middle of Thanksgiving dinner! So this raises the question, is there such a thing as Black Thursday and is Thanksgiving actually on Wednesday? We sent 15 Calendar enthusiast to interview 15 different corporations on why they Celebrate Black Friday on Thursday. JcPenney CEO stated "Last year we meant to start the sale on Friday, but we had a typo and it said Thursday. So now we just always have it at 2 pm on Thursday." Walmart had a different motive according to their CEO, "We felt that people didn't want to get up early and shop, so we moved it to Thursday afternoon to accommodate with their sleeping habits. Besides, all of their family is in town, and what better way to spend time than shopping for stuff." Our research indicates that Thursday is still Thanksgiving, but Black Friday is still up for debate. We believe that corporations still don't understand how a calendar works.
